Letter of the week G (Magic Fingers)
Introduce new unit of fire safety. Show a picture of a Firefighter. Ask students to share what they know about firefighters.

Point out to students what the firefighter is wearing. Ask why they have to wear these things. Helmet, coat, pants, boots, oxygen tank.
Decomposing the number 4 - taking 4 cubes and breaking it up into 2/2 and 3/1 by covering.

Review the gear that firefighters wear while fighting fires. Begin a discussion about the tools a firefighter uses to fight fires. Hose, ax, ladder, fire truck. Subitizing numbers 1-5 - quickly identifying how many without counting.
