12/4 - 12/6
Week in Review
During our farm unit, we had fun exploring, playing and learning in various centers that helped us practice key skills.  Enjoy scrolling through to see what we did this week and what skills we practiced!

Sense of Self: We have been practicing our last names this week during our hello song and having fun looking at ourselves in the mirror and then creating our faces out of playdough.  We tried very hard to use the same colors as our hair, eyes, and skin.

Measurement: In the sensory table we had fun washing dishes.  It was fun to fill and pour the cups and bowls with water and to see which held more or less water based on their size/volume.

Fine Motor: We traced and cut out farm animal shapes.  We practiced holding our markers and crayons using a tripod grip (pencil grasped between thumb and first two fingers)

Appreciation and Engagements in the Arts: It was so fun to make animal tracks.

Drawing and Writing: We drew farm pictures at the easel and then had the tractor drive through the mud.  We always encourage the children to label their drawings or tell a story about their drawing.

Counting and Cardinality / Number Operations: We counted the animals and then used a clothes pin to clip that number - those clips were tricky to use!
