Review list of fall ideas shared from students yesterday. Have a discussion about the different seasons. Briefly describe each season: winter, spring, summer, and fall. Emphasize fall and have children review what happens during fall.

Activity: This is a non-fiction book. We will take the time to understand the new concepts. Discuss the different seasons and how they are different and how they are the same.

Questions: What didn’t Little Tree do? Why do you think he didn’t want to drop his leaves? What happened to the other trees when they did drop their leaves? How did Little Tree know that it was ok to drop his leaves?
Activity: This was a book on CD and we enjoyed listening.

Questions: Why was the character, squirrel trying to hide all the acorns? What was he preparing for?
Activity: Have a discussion about books. How do we hold a book to read it? Identify the Author, Illustrator, front/back cover, and spine.

Questions: How was the character, Bear feeling when all the leaves were falling? Can we put leaves on the tree after they have already fallen off? Why? What was Bear doing when he slept?
